Anxiety has been talked about more and more but what is it? Anxiety may dominate our lives and may feel uncontrollable despite our best efforts. Anxiety presents itself in a variety of ways. We might feel like anxiety or panic has spread to every aspect of our daily life, making it difficult to imagine a day without it. Anxious thoughts and emotions can influence our perspective and even impact our nervous system.

Some common signs of anxiety:

  • Feelings of panic, danger, or dread

  • Nervousness, restlessness, or tension

  • Insomnia or trouble sleeping

  • Increased or heavy sweating

  • Trembling or muscle twitching

  • Weakness or lethargy

  • Obsessive thoughts

  • Rapid breathing or hyperventilation

  • Difficulty focusing or thinking clearly about anything else other than your worries
